At a press event to promote Spielberg’s latest film The BFG, the director was asked whether Indiana Jones creator George Lucas would be involved with the next film and The Bearded Trio got the quote:

George is gonna to be an executive producer on it with me. … I would never make an Indiana Jones film without George Lucas. That’d be insane.

I agree with Spielberg that making an Indiana Jones film without Lucas would be insane, so I’m glad to hear they are going forward with this. Many feared that after Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012 he wouldn’t be involved in any of his franchises ever again, but Lucas is a hard worker and a creative and it’s no surprise he can’t stay away.

So now we have confirmation of Spielberg, Lucas and Williams on this project. Yes!
