Frank Marshall does not plan to approach Indiana Jones’ future with the James Bond casting method.

According to Frank Marshall, it appears recasting Indiana Jones and the franchise taking the James Bond method of casting is not exactly on the table yet. There have been a lot of rumors about Bradley Cooper and Chris Pratt, for instance. It appears those rumors are not as solid as many would have believed over the last year.

Den of Geek quotes Marshall talking to Total Film as saying they’re:

“not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones… we have to figure this out.”

And:

“There are a lot of rumors,” Marshall admitted. “We haven’t even sat down to talk about Indy yet… at some point we’ll sit down. But there’s a bunch of people who could probably take the baton.”

In a way the discussion appears to be slightly premature as Spielberg has expressed interest in doing one more Indy with Harrison Ford. Hopefully this next film gets moving soon. There’s still no word on a new writer or if George Lucas has returned with a premise and MacGuffin for Indy 5.
